wBox app:
“BleBox luxSensor” is a WiFi sensor measuring light intensity in the range of 0 to 50,000 lx (lux) – the so-called luxmeter, photometer, solar sensor, light sensor, brightness sensor, light meter.
The sensor communicates via a local WiFi network (it can work without Internet access) or directly (creating its own WiFi network). Thanks to the free BleBox cloud and the wBox application (available for smartphones and computers), remote communication from anywhere in the world is also possible.
The “BleBox luxSensor” offers a wide measurement range from 0 to 50,000 lx (lux) and a high resolution of 0.1 lx (lux) in the range of 0–10 lx (lux), which allows for precise determination of the brightness level.
It can be used indoors to monitor whether the brightness of the lighting is appropriate for the activities performed or outdoors to assess atmospheric conditions and the current time of day.
For example:
– night,
– twilight,
– total cloudiness,
– cloudy,
– clear sky,
– cloudless sky.
The “BleBox luxSensor” can be connected to other “BleBox” controllers to:
Examples of automation scenarios:
The device can wirelessly send up to 30 control commands to other BleBox devices via a local WiFi network (regardless of the Internet connection).
Connect the “BleBox luxSensor” to the “shutterBox”, “shutterBox DIN” lub “shutterBoxDC”, controller to automatically regulate the level of shading by adjusting the percentage of opening of blinds, roller blinds or awnings.
For example:
The device can wirelessly send up to 30 control commands to other BleBox devices via a local WiFi network (regardless of the Internet connection).
In the wBox application, you can view historical measurement values on an interactive graph. The sensor provides two values in the selected time window:
This data helps determine whether the sky was cloudless or clear during a given time window.
Historical data also helps track and determine how much light reached crops or photovoltaic panels.
For advanced users, there is an option to export data to files in “.csv” or “.xlsx” (Excel) formats, which allows for further processing or archiving of information.
The “BleBox luxSensor” sunlight sensor can send push notifications to your smartphone.
The notification can be sent as a warning after exceeding a certain brightness threshold or as a cyclical weather message. The content of the notification is fully configurable!
The housing of the “BleBox luxSensor” brightness sensor is weatherproof.
The functional design allows for easy installation using one of two methods:
Installation is trivially simple! Connect to a charger with a 5V* input (USB-A, e.g. from a phone) and start working!
Thanks to the power supply, you do not have to remember about the troublesome replacement of batteries and you can be sure that the sensor always works.

*For installers: it is also possible to cut the cable (cut off the USB-A connector) to power the sensor from a 5-24V DC power supply. This action does not void the warranty.
