The BleBox openSensor is a miniature, smart WiFi sensor designed to indicate open or closed status.

It is ideal for any situation where monitoring the open/closed state or detecting opening events is necessary to implement specific automation scenarios.

The free wBox app, available for smartphones and computers, allows you to read data from multiple modules simultaneously from anywhere in the world.

The BleBox openSensor WiFi sensor allows monitoring the open/closed status of various types of windows:

• standard windows,
• roof and skylight windows,
• balcony doors,
• sliding terrace / HS / HST doors

For roof windows, if you need not only to monitor the open/closed status but also to control the opening level, we recommend:

For window open/close detection, the “BleBox openSensor” WiFi module offers two operating modes:

•  2-state – open / closed
•  3-state – open / tilted / closed

The 3-state mode can only be used for windows when the sensor is surface-mounted on the lower part of the window frame.

In addition to monitoring window open/close status, the BleBox openSensor WiFi sensor can function as a WiFi reed switch and is ideal for monitoring the open/closed status of:

• gates, doors, and wickets,
• barn boxes and animal enclosure gates,
• tool cabinets and drawers,
• medicine cabinets,
• electrical panels,
• IT cabinets

The device offers a wide set of 2-state or 3-state icons in the wBox app, allowing you to match the icon to a specific application.

This makes the interface more clear and intuitive – users can easily recognize a particular object and its status from the icon alone, without having to read the name or status description.

The BleBox openSensor WiFi sensor is equipped with two physical outputs that indicate the open and/or closed status.

This allows the sensor to be integrated with other automation systems, such as alarm systems.

The device not only allows monitoring of the open/closed status but also enables the creation of functional smart home automation scenarios.

Based on the detected open/closed status, it is possible to wirelessly control other BleBox devices, such as:

• ON/OFF devices – e.g., “switchBox” / “switchBox DIN” / “switchBoxDC” / “switchBoxD DC DIN”
• Shutters, screens, windows, actuators, dampers – e.g. “shutterBox” / “shutterBox DIN” / “shutterBoxDC” / “dacBoxD DC”

Example automation scenarios:

• With switchBox: If a window has been open for more than 5 minutes, turn off the air conditioner.
• With shutterBox: If a window is opened, send a command to disable the shutter schedule (so it doesn’t close while, for example, you are on the terrace).

The “BleBox openSensor” smart WiFi sensor allows sending alerts and push notifications directly to your smartphone.

Additionally, it is possible to customize the notification content, allowing you to tailor the messages to your specific needs.

Examples of custom notifications:

• “The living room window has been open for more than 2 hours”
• “The wicket has been opened”
• “The gate has been opened”
• “Warning! The electrical panel has been opened!”
• “Warning! The animal enclosure has been opened”

In the wBox app, you can view historical data.

Archived data is available for up to 12 months and presented on an interactive chart, making it easier to analyze changes over time.

For advanced users, there is an option to export data to files in the following formats:

• “.csv”
• “.xlsx” (Excel)

This allows for easy processing, comparison, and archiving of measurements in external systems and analytical tools.

The “BleBox openSensor” WiFi open/close sensor can be integrated with Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

This allows you to monitor the open/closed status in the Home or Amazon Alexa apps, as well as query the assistant by voice – without manually checking the app.

Simply give a voice command to your smartphone, Google Home / Nest Hub, or Amazon Echo Dot / Spot to instantly find out, for example, whether a window is open in a specific room.

The accessory has two built-in and properly positioned magnetic components – this facilitates the installation and positioning of the sensor in 3-state mode (open / tilted / closed). It replaces the magnetic element included in the kit.

The “BleBox openSensor” WiFi sensor is powered by a safe 5-48V DC voltage, allowing operation in FELV, PELV, and SELV circuits.

With constant power supply, you can forget about the hassle of battery replacement, which can be time-consuming and problematic, especially when using multiple sensors.

Support for ELV (extra low voltage) on both the power supply and the two module outputs makes the “openSensor” ideal for both home automation and more advanced industrial systems.

The “BleBox openSensor” WiFi device offers three communication modes:

• Directly – via the WiFi network broadcasted by the sensor itself
• Locally – via the home WiFi network, without Internet access
• Remotely – from anywhere in the world, thanks to the free BleBox cloud

Thanks to local communication, automations operate reliably even in the event of an Internet outage.

Thanks to the free BleBox cloud and the wBox app, you can manage access to the sensor from anywhere in the world and easily share it with other users.
